Varanasi, 6 Dec (HS): A third group from Tamil Nadu arrived in
Kashi on Saturday to participate in the Kashi Tamil Sangamam 4.0. The group
arrived at Varanasi Railway Station by special train. The third group is
composed of writers. Upon landing at the station, they were welcomed with the
playing of the drum, a shower of flowers, and chants of Har Har
Mahadev and Vanakkam Kashi, as per Kashi tradition.
State Cabinet Minister Anil
Rajbhar and administrative officials were present during the welcome. The group
was greeted with information about Kashi's cultural affinity and the historical
Tamil-Kashi ties. The Tamil team members were elated by the traditional welcome
at the station. Many expressed their unforgettable warmth and spiritual
atmosphere in Kashi. The sound of the Damru drum playing filled the entire
complex with Shiva, clearly demonstrating the cultural unity of Kashi and Tamil
Nadu.
According to the program's
schedule, the group from Tamil Nadu will visit and worship at the Shri Kashi
Vishwanath Dham on Saturday. They will then visit the banks of the Ganges, the
ghats, and the city's major cultural and educational sites. Organizing
committee members stated that special programs have been designed to introduce
the guests to Kashi's rich heritage, art, culture, and spirituality.
It
is worth noting that the Kashi Tamil Sangamam aims to revive the
ancient cultural, religious, and educational ties between Kashi and Tamil Nadu.
This is its fourth edition, with representatives from various fields—education,
culture, literature, arts, and industry—participating.
