Varanasi, 6 Dec
(HS): Varanasi district
police have increased monitoring for the fourth edition of the Kashi Tamil
Sangamam by deploying a sophisticated fleet of new-generation drones. According to Saravanan Thangamani, Deputy
Commissioner of Police, Varanasi Commissionerate, a special 10-member drone
team is assuring the safety and protection of visitors to the event. We are utilizing cutting-edge drone
technology. Drones were used last year,
but only in limited quantities. We are
employing three sorts of drones: tiny drones, micro drones, and nano drones, he
stated. He emphasized the importance of
the drone fleet, saying the Mini Drone is unique in that it can be
self-charged, allowing for round-the-clock operations unlike other
battery-dependent types. He said that
this drone is capable of running 24 hours a day, seven days a week to maintain
ongoing observation in a region.
Officials
stated the Macro Drone can monitor a broad 2 kilometer region. It can
cover a larger area and will be used in the jungle behind the NaMo Ghat,
explained Saravanan, who is also the Nodal Officer for the Kashi Tamil Sangamam
event. Yogi Adityanath, the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, launched Kashi
Tamil Sangamam 4.0 at NaMo Ghat on December 2. The third type of drone is
Nano Drones, which may capture photographs of suspicious activity. He
gave an example: if a car is parked in an area for an abnormally lengthy time,
this drone scans it and sends the image to the authorities. We take action
based on the photos it shares. Saravanan stated that the surveillance
data produced by the three drones (small, micro, and nano) is instantly shared
with senior police officers to take appropriate action.
