Lucknow,

31 Dec (HS): Following the appointment of the new BJP president in the state,

efforts to effect changes within the government and the organization have

intensified. In this context, a core committee meeting was held at the Chief

Minister's residence on Tuesday, where both cabinet expansion and

organizational changes were discussed. Sources indicate that the outline of the

proposed expansion was discussed during the meeting, which lasted over an hour

and a quarter, and the core committee has reached a consensus. It is believed

that the expansion could be implemented any time after receiving the green signal

from Delhi.

Following

this, the work of reorganizing the organization will begin. Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath was in Lucknow for the entire day on Tuesday, with his time

reserved. Late in the evening, State President Pankaj Chaudhary, General

Secretary of Organization Dharampal Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad

Maurya and Brajesh Pathak, as well as RSS regional campaigner Anil Kumar and

other RSS officials arrived at his residence. They all spent over an hour and a

quarter at the CM's residence.

Sources

say that the meeting, held in the presence of the Chief Minister, focused most

of the discussion on cabinet expansion. Reliable sources say that the

appointment of about half a dozen MLAs, including outgoing state president

Bhupendra Chaudhary, as ministers was seriously considered. Suggestions were

also made to pay special attention to caste equations in view of the upcoming

assembly elections in 2027. A consensus was also reached on reorganizing the

BJP's state organization based on this formula.

State

President leaves for Delhi: After the meeting, State President Pankaj Chaudhary

left for Delhi late last night. Some other leaders associated with the core

committee may also travel to Delhi on Wednesday. Sources say that Pankaj

Chaudhary will brief the high command on the core committee meeting's discussions

and proposals. A final decision on cabinet expansion will be made after this.
