
Delhi, 30 December(HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed profound grief over the tragic accident in Mumbai’s Bhandup area that claimed several lives late Monday night.In an official message shared by the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on its social media channels on Tuesday, PM Modi said he was deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the Bhandup mishap.
Extending his condolences to the bereaved families, he also wished a swift recovery for those injured.“I am deeply pained by the loss of lives in the accident that occurred in Bhandup, Mumbai,” the Prime Minister stated. “My heartfelt condolences to those who have lost their loved ones. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured.”
According to local reports, the incident took place near the Bhandup railway station at the Bhandup depot when a BEST bus accidentally ran over several pedestrians. The collision reportedly resulted in the deaths of four individuals, while at least ten others sustained serious injuries.
Emergency teams and local authorities rushed to the scene, and the injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.Police sources said an investigation has been initiated to determine the exact cause of the accident, while the Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport (BEST) undertaking assured full cooperation with the probe.
