Guwahati, 29 December (HS) : Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Monday said that the state has taken another significant step towards strengthening its law and order system with the addition of advanced infrastructure facilities. He expressed sincere gratitude to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for inaugurating the Guwahati Police Commissionerate Office Building and the Automated City Surveillance System.

The Chief Minister stated that the two projects, developed at a cost of nearly ₹300 crore, will play a crucial role in ensuring safety, security, sustainability and enhanced public convenience. He said the new Police Commissionerate office, built with contemporary technical standards, is designed to offer an improved public experience and will function as a key hub housing major police facilities under one roof for the benefit of the people.

Dr Sarma further expressed confidence that the new building would significantly enhance the efficiency and accessibility of policing services in the state. On the occasion, Union Home Minister Amit Shah also inaugurated an exhibition related to the new criminal justice codes and flagged off forensic mobile vans to be deployed in every district of Assam.----------
