New Delhi, 23 December (H.S.): Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to former Prime Minister P. V. Narasimha Rao on his death anniversary, remembering him as a visionary leader who laid the foundation for India’s modern economic transformation.

In a post on social media platform X, Kharge said that under Rao’s leadership, India embarked on a transformative phase of economic reforms that created a strong base for the nation’s long-term development.

Highlighting the significance of Rao’s tenure, Kharge noted that India’s nuclear program gained strength during his time as Prime Minister, while the country also recorded several milestones in foreign policy. He praised Rao for initiating the Look East Policy, calling it a “crucial step that reshaped India’s diplomatic orientation towards East and Southeast Asia.”

Kharge further remarked that P. V. Narasimha Rao’s contributions would forever be remembered for strengthening India’s prosperity and advancing its progress.
