Share your ideas for Union Budget 2026–27 and contribute to policies that promote inclusive and sustainable national growth.”
The portal urged citizens to submit their views on key focus areas for the upcoming financial year through the link — https://mygov.in/group-issue/inviting-ideas-and-suggestions-union-budget-2026-2027/ — or post their suggestions on social media with the hashtag #UnionBudget and tag @FinMinIndia.
The initiative aims to strengthen citizen engagement in the policymaking process, enabling the formulation of more effective rules, schemes, and reforms aligned with public priorities. Officials from MyGovIndia highlighted that this participatory approach would help ensure inclusive and evidence-based budgeting for the upcoming fiscal year.
In preparation for the Union Budget 2026–27, Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has already concluded multiple rounds of pre-budget consultations in New Delhi over the past month. She began the series of discussions with leading economists, followed by meetings with farmers’ associations and agricultural economists.
Subsequent sessions involved stakeholders from diverse sectors including MSMEs, capital markets, startups, manufacturing, BFSI (banking, financial services, and insurance), information technology, tourism and hospitality, and finally, representatives from trade unions and labor organizations.
Through this open call for public input, the government is seeking actionable ideas that support balanced growth, innovation, and economic inclusivity — reinforcing its commitment to a “whole-of-society” approach in policy formulation.
