New Delhi, 19 December (H.S.): Authorities pledged comprehensive corrective measures following the imminent release of a probe panel report into IndiGo's recent widespread flight disruptions, a senior official affirmed on Friday.

The four-member committee, instituted by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), anticipates finalizing its findings shortly to scrutinize operational lapses that precipitated the chaos earlier this month.

IndiGo encountered severe setbacks in late November and early December 2025, cancelling 170-200 flights daily—peaking at over 1,000 on December 5—due to crew shortages, flawed rostering, and non-compliance with revised Flight Duty Time Limitations (FDTL) norms.

The airline, approved for 64,346 flights in November, operated only 59,438 amid 951 cancellations, deploying just 344 of its 403 aircraft.CEO Pieter Elbers conceded planning gaps in adapting to Phase-II FDTL rules, prompting a Crisis Management Group and external expert involvement for remediation.

In response, DGCA slashed IndiGo's Winter Schedule 2025 by 10 percent across sectors—equating to 220-230 fewer daily flights—and mandated a revised plan submission. The regulator terminated four Flight Operations Inspectors for oversight failures, issued show-cause notices to CEO Elbers and Accountable Manager Isidro Porqueras, while the Competition Commission of India (CCI) launched an anti-trust inquiry.

A parliamentary panel deemed responses from IndiGo and DGCA evasive, underscoring demands for passenger compensation and network restoration, now stabilizing at 2,200 daily flights.
