Guwahati, 19 December (HS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving in Assam on Saturday on a two-day visit, during which he will attend a series of official programmes on December 20 and 21.

Ahead of the Prime Minister’s visit, extensive preparations and security arrangements have been put in place and the entire city of Guwahati has been decorated and spruced up to welcome him.

In view of the visit and related security measures, the Guwahati–North Guwahati ferry service will remain suspended on December 20 and 21. Officials informed that ferry operations will remain completely closed till 12 noon on December 21.

The temporary suspension of ferry services has been announced to ensure smooth movement and security during the Prime Minister’s visit.---------------
