
New Delhi, 19 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the Closing Ceremony of the Second WHO Global Summit on Traditional Medicine today at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, underscoring India’s leadership in advancing a science-driven and people-centric global agenda for traditional medicine.
The three-day summit, jointly organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, was held from December 17 to 19, 2025, under the theme “Restoring Balance: The Science and Practice of Health and Well-Being.” It brought together global policymakers, scientists, practitioners, and traditional knowledge holders to deliberate on strengthening sustainable and evidence-based healthcare systems.In line with his vision of integrating India’s traditional knowledge systems with modern science, the Prime Minister will unveil multiple landmark initiatives for the Ayush sector.
Among them is the My Ayush Integrated Services Portal (MAISP) — a comprehensive digital platform designed to unify and streamline Ayush-related services. He will also launch the Ayush Mark, a global standard symbolizing quality assurance for Ayush products and services, positioning India as a trusted hub for traditional healthcare.
During the event, Prime Minister Modi will release the WHO Technical Report on Yoga Training and the book “From Roots to Global Reach: 11 Years of Transformation in Ayush.”
A commemorative postal stamp on Ashwagandha will also be issued, reflecting India’s enduring contributions to global wellness traditions.Further marking a historic milestone in India’s partnership with the WHO, the Prime Minister will inaugurate the new WHO–South-East Asia Regional Office Complex in Delhi, which will also host the WHO India Country Office.
He will additionally felicitate the recipients of the Prime Minister’s Awards for Outstanding Contribution to the Promotion and Development of Yoga (2021–2025), recognizing their significant role in promoting Yoga as a global practice for holistic health and wellbeing.
Later, the Prime Minister will tour the Traditional Medicine Discovery Space, an international exhibition highlighting the diversity and global relevance of traditional health systems.The closing ceremony not only celebrates India’s achievements in traditional medicine but also reaffirms its commitment to championing integrative, sustainable, and inclusive models of health for the world.
