

New Delhi/Amman, 15 December (H.S.): Prime Minister Modi landed in Amman on Monday and was received at the airport by Jordanian Prime Minister Jafar Hassan in a gesture reflecting the closeness of India–Jordan ties. He expressed gratitude for the ceremonial welcome and conveyed confidence that the visit would significantly strengthen bilateral linkages between the two nations.
Outreach to the Indian Community
Soon after his arrival, Modi was greeted by an enthusiastic gathering of Indian community members in Amman, who welcomed him with chants, flags and expressions of support. The Prime Minister said he was deeply moved by their warmth and highlighted how their affection, pride in India’s progress and strong cultural roots symbolise the enduring bond between India and its global diaspora, particularly in Jordan.
Context of the Three-Nation TourJordan is the first stop on Modi’s December 15–18 tour, which will also take him to Ethiopia and Oman for high‑level talks on trade, security, connectivity and regional stability.
The visit to Amman coincides with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between India and Jordan and is expected to give fresh momentum to cooperation in areas such as energy, counterterrorism, economic partnership and people‑to‑people exchanges.
