14 Dec (HS): Following Pankaj Chaudhary's election, outgoing state BJP
president Bhupendra Chaudhary handed over the party's flag to his successor. Piyush
Goyal, who served as the Central Election Officer, handed Pankaj Chaudhary his
certificate of election. Pankaj
Chaudhary, Union Minister of State for Finance, was declared the new president
of the BJP's Uttar Pradesh unit on Sunday, with his election formally confirmed
by Union Minister Piyush Goyal. The declaration was made in front of Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath and Deputy Chief Ministers Keshav Prasad Maurya and
Brajesh Pathak. BJP officials
congratulated Chaudhary on his appointment and voiced optimism about the
party's chances in the state, where assembly elections are scheduled for 2027.

I have full faith that under your successful guidance and visionary leadership,
the dedicated workers of the Uttar Pradesh BJP will work with renewed energy to
realize the party's commitments to Developed India, Developed Uttar
Pradesh and to focus on national interest and public welfare. The state
organization will set new standards of service, dedication, and good
governance,” stated UP CM Yogi Adityanath in a post on X.
Deputy
Chief Minister Maurya stated that the party's next major test is the 2027
assembly election, and that the BJP will win by a landslide under Chaudhary's
leadership. Another deputy chief
minister, Pathak, congratulated Chaudhary on his election as state BJP
president.
Cabinet
Minister Dara Singh Chauhan stated that the party will reach new heights under
Chaudhary's leadership, while MSME Minister Rakesh Sachan congratulated the
BJP's national leadership for the choice and expressed confidence that the
party will return to power in the state with a complete majority in 2027. Senior
BJP leader Dinesh Pratap Singh said Chaudhary was completely capable of
providing strong leadership for the party and appreciated the central
leadership for putting their faith in him.
