Kolkata, 14 December (H.S.): The helper of the truck that collided with the car of Bhola Ghosh, a key witness in the Sheikh Shahjahan case from Sandeshkhali, has been arrested by the police of Najat police station. The police claimed that the truck's regular helper is Golam Hossain Molla. However, the police are investigating whether he was in the truck on the day of the incident. Three people have been arrested in connection with this incident so far. However, the driver of the killer truck is still at large.

According to police sources, Golam was arrested on Sunday from the Kharampur area of Hasnabad police station. The police learned about Golam while gathering information about the truck. His mobile phone was then put under surveillance. Based on the location information from his mobile tower, the police arrested Golam.

Although he is the helper of that truck, it is not yet clear whether he was in the truck on that day. Golam's mother, Sahila Bibi, said, Golam did not go in the vehicle on the day of the incident. He wasn't even in the area.

On Wednesday morning, Bhola's four-wheeler was involved in an accident on the Basanti Highway. After colliding with a truck coming from the opposite direction, the car fell into a reservoir beside the road. The lorry also fell into the water. The driver of the car and Bhola's younger son died on the spot. Bhola was also seriously injured in the accident.

Bhola alleged that a conspiracy was hatched to kill him because he was a witness in the Shahjahan case. Bhola's elder son claims that the attempt was made to kill his father so that he could not testify against Shahjahan. Bhola lost his younger son in the accident. After the incident on Wednesday, he filed a complaint at Rajbari police outpost on Thursday.

On Saturday, two people were arrested by the Najat police in connection with this incident. These include Uttam Sardar alias Sushant. Last year, he was arrested on charges of attacking the Enforcement Directorate (ED) team at Shahjahan's house. Another person, Ruhul Kuddus Sheikh, was also apprehended by the police. Gholam was arrested on Sunday.

The arrested accused was produced before Basirhat Sub-Divisional Court on Sunday. The court ordered him to be remanded in police custody for eight days.

However, the truck driver is still at large, and the police are searching for him.
