Asansol, 14 December (H.S.): A completely burnt-out jeep has been recovered from a pond near Babunada village under Kakansa police station area in Asansol. Local residents spotted the burnt vehicle on Sunday morning and informed the police. On information, the police from Malanadidhi outpost arrived at the scene.

Local residents said that unknown individuals came under the cover of darkness and set the jeep on fire in the pond. The villagers are demanding that the police increase patrols in the area and conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.

According to police sources, all aspects of the incident are being investigated seriously. CCTV footage from the surrounding area is being collected as part of the investigation.
