Former TMC booth president found dead in field


Birbhum, 14 December (H.S.): The situation became tense in Dhalatikuri village of Kankalitala Gram Panchayat in Birbhum district following the mysterious death of former Trinamool booth president Madan Lohar. Madan had been missing since Saturday evening. His body was found lying in a field in the Dhalatikuri area on Sunday morning. On information, the police reached the spot. However, due to protests by local residents, the police were unable to take possession of the body until Sunday afternoon.

On Sunday morning, local residents discovered Madan's body in a field in Dhalatikuri. Blood was flowing from his ear. However, locals claimed that there were no other visible injury marks on his body. The family and residents of the area alleged that Madan was murdered in a planned manner.

On information, the police from Santiniketan police station arrived at the scene. However, when the police attempted to remove the body, the local residents and the deceased's family obstructed them.

The protesters said that the body would not be removed until they received assurances of a proper and impartial investigation into the death. They also demanded the immediate arrest of the culprits. Additional police forces were deployed to maintain order.

The police said that all aspects of the case would be investigated to determine the actual cause of death. However, due to the protests by local residents, the body had not been recovered at the time of filing this report.
