Lucknow,

14 Dec (HS): Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal asserted on

Sunday that the honor and respect Indians receive overseas now were never the

same before 2014. He was addressing BJP members and leaders in Lucknow after

announcing the appointment of Union Minister Pankaj Chaudhary as state party

president. He stated that prior to 2014, when the BJP came to power at the

Centre, the news showed corruption and massive scandals every day, and the law

and order situation in Uttar Pradesh was very poor.

Addressing

the audience, he stated that by appointing Narendra Modi as prime minister and

guaranteeing the establishment of the NDA government with a massive majority,

you have witnessed ('saakshi') and facilitated ('sutradhaar') the development

frenzy that began.

Between

2014 and 2025, under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, the mentality

and method of working altered. At the

international level, India's identity shifted.

Today, wherever we travel with an Indian passport, we are treated with

dignity and respect, which was never the case before to 2014, according to

Goyal. He also stated that the Modi government's emphasis on good governance,

linking a developing country with progress, bringing the spirit of 'antyodaya'

to homes in the genuine sense, and changing people's lives since 2014 sets a

precedence for the country and the globe. The Union minister also enumerated

the government's achievements, claiming that it had lifted 25 crore people out

of poverty in 11 years.

He

also stated that in such a short period of time, the country's economy has

become the fastest-growing in the world and is on track to become the world's

third-largest economy.

Goyal

praised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, saying he has liberated

the state from land, sand, and liquor mafias in the last eight years. He has

maintained law and order and transformed Uttar Pradesh into India's second

biggest economy, with a GDP approaching USD 1 trillion, according to Goyal. I

believe that both leaders have tried to move India and Uttar Pradesh ahead with

a fresh perspective and a new path, which encourages all of us, he added.

The

Union minister further stated that there is probably no other state that has

grown so much in eight years, and that there are limitless opportunities (in

the state). He alleged that when the BJP took control in 2017, there was an

environment of emigration in the state, no employment opportunities for people,

and the mafia ruled. But today, an environment has been created in which

industrialists feel safe here, he remarked.
