Dehradun, December 13 (H.S.): The Indian Military Academy (IMA) will hold its Passing-Out Parade (POP) on Saturday, marking a significant milestone as 525 cadets complete their training and step into commissioned service. Of these, 491 cadets will be commissioned into the Indian Army, while 34 cadets from 14 friendly foreign nations will also graduate after undergoing rigorous training at the academy.
All arrangements for the ceremonial parade, regarded as one of the country’s most prestigious military events, have been completed, IMA sources said. The Chief of Army Staff, General Upendra Dwivedi, will be the chief guest and will review the parade, which signifies the culmination of months of intense physical, mental and leadership training for the cadets.
Established in 1932, the Indian Military Academy has so far trained nearly 67,000 officer cadets, contributing significantly to the leadership of the Indian Army. Even after nearly 93 years, the academy continues to uphold its legacy of discipline, dedication and commitment to national service.
During the ceremony, General Upendra Dwivedi will inspect the parade, address the graduating cadets and award certificates of graduation. The Passing-Out Parade is expected to draw attention from across the country, celebrating the values of courage, integrity and honour embodied by the next generation of military officers, who are prepared to serve their nations with unwavering commitment, the sources added.
