
Mumbai, 24 Nov (HS): The basic projects to imrpove connectivity and traffic
in Mumbai will be completed within five years. The connectivity between
North-East Mumbai and North-South Mumbai will be completed in the war footing,
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said. He was addressing the ‘Youth Connect; organised
by the Indian Interntional Movement to United Nations (IIMUN) at Woprli Dome in
Mumbai on Monday.
Fadnavis said the Sea-linkwill be extended to Versova-Dahisar-Bhaindar. The
extended sea-ling and flow-vridges will ease the reaffic. The traffic on
Western Fast Track will be eased by working out alternative route. The
facilities will enhance the speed of traffic and ease trafiic congestions.
Referring to reduction in government and municipa schools due to attraction
of parents towards private schools, Fadnavis said the municipal and government
schools in Mumbai are proposed to be upgraded to match international standards.
Besides providing facilities teacjhers will be trained in teachin system.
Fadnavis expressed confidence that the schools will be more popular compared to
the private schools.
Active participation of youth is essential for strengthening the democracy
in the country. They should be important stockholders in the changing situation
instead of remaining the muite spectators, he said
Fadnavis also spoke about pollution and waste disposal in sea in Mumbai,
and wanted youth to get involved in thinking the manner in which it can be
controlled.
