Delhi, 14 November (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi this morning remembered India’s first Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, on his birth anniversary.

The Prime Minister wrote on X, “Tributes to former Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary.”

It is noteworthy that Nehru was born on November 14, 1889, in Prayagraj (then Allahabad). He received his early education at home from private tutors. At the age of fifteen, he went to England, and after spending two years at Harrow, he enrolled at the University of Cambridge. There, he earned a bachelor’s degree in natural sciences.

After returning to India in 1912, Nehru became directly involved in politics and later went on to become the country’s Prime Minister after independence.
