LICHFIELD, England, 28 October (H.S.): King Charles III was publicly confronted by a heckler on Monday regarding his brother Prince Andrew's connection to the convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The incident took place during a royal visit to Lichfield Cathedral in Staffordshire.
While the King was greeting crowds, a male protester shouted questions, asking, How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein? and inquiring whether the King had asked police to cover up for his brother. The King did not respond to the questions and continued to interact with the public.
The protester's interjection was met with a swift rebuke from other onlookers, who voiced their support for the monarch with chants of God Save The King and told the man to shut up.
The confrontation occurs amidst renewed and intense scrutiny of Prince Andrew's association with Epstein, fueled by recent revelations and allegations repeated in Virginia Giuffre's posthumously published memoir. The prince, who has relinquished his royal titles, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.
