Mumbai, 08 Jan (HS):

Two dreaded Naxalite female members surrendered in Gadchiroli on Wednesday. The

women had ₹10 lakh prize money on their heads.

The surrendered women

were identified as Shyamla Juru Pudo alias Leela and Kajal Mangru Wadde alial

Limmi. Shyamla had joined the Naxal Dalam in 2002 and became Section Commander in

2010. About 45 cases have been registered against her, including 21 encounters,

six setting on fire, and 18 others. The Maharashtra Government had announced a

prize money of eight lakhs on Shyamla.

Kajal joined the group

in 2018. Cases of involvement in four encounters, one setting on fire and three

other were registered against her. The Maharashtra Government had announced a

prize of ₹2 lakh on her head.

So far 693 Naxalites

have surrendered in Gadchiroli, following the declaration of the rehabilitation

programme for them by the police force. In the first week of 2025, 13 Naxalites

surrendered, including 11 on January 1 in presence of Chief Minister Devendra

Fadnavis.
