New Delhi, 8 January (H.S.): The Supreme Court refuses to give custody of minor son of Bengaluru engineer Atul Subhash to his mother. A bench headed by Justice Bela M Trivedi said that the child's grandparents are strangers to him.
On December 20, 2024, while hearing the petition of Atul Subhash's mother Anju Devi, the Supreme Court had issued notice to the governments of three states UP, Haryana and Karnataka.
Anju Devi has filed a petition for the custody of her grandson. The petition states that no one knows where Atul Subhash's son is because Atul's wife Nikita Singhania is not telling anyone the address of the child. After this incident, Atul's brother-in-law Anurag Singhania and mother Nisha Singhania were arrested and they are currently in custody.
On 9 December 2024, Atul Subhash committed suicide in Bengaluru.
