New Delhi, 7 January (H.S.): After facing a sharp decline on Monday, the domestic stock market was able to make a comeback on Tuesday.
Today's trading also started with a slight increase. In the initial 1 hour of trading, there was a sharp fluctuation in the market due to the tussle between buyers and sellers.
However, after the first hour, buyers dominated the market most of the time. After the whole day's trading, the Sensex closed with a strength of 0.30 percent and Nifty with a strength of 0.39 percent.
Today, during the whole day's trading, there was continuous buying in the shares of metal, oil and gas and energy sector. Similarly, realty, pharmaceutical, banking, automobile, capital goods, consumer durables, FMCG and PSE indices also closed with gains.
On the other hand, selling pressure remained in tech and IT sector stocks today. There was continuous buying in the broader market today, due to which the BSE midcap index closed with a gain of 0.77 per cent. Similarly, the smallcap index ended today's trading by jumping 1.74 per cent.
Due to the strength in the stock market today, the wealth of stock market investors increased by more than Rs 2.75 lakh crore. The market capitalization of companies listed on the BSE increased to Rs 441.59 lakh crore (provisional) after today's trading, while on the previous trading day i.e. Monday, their market capitalization was Rs 438.79 lakh crore. In this way, investors made a profit of about Rs 2.80 lakh crore from today's trading.
There was active trading in 4,090 shares in BSE during the day's trading today. Of these, 2,626 stocks closed with gains, while 1,357 stocks declined, while 107 stocks closed without any fluctuations.
Active trading took place in 2,511 stocks on NSE today. Of these, 1,895 stocks closed in the green zone after making profits and 616 stocks closed in the red zone after suffering losses. Similarly, out of the 30 stocks included in the Sensex, 20 stocks closed with gains and 10 stocks closed with losses. While out of the 50 stocks included in the Nifty, 34 stocks closed in the green zone and 16 stocks closed in the red zone.
The BSE Sensex opened today with a gain of 54.81 points at 78,019.80 points. As soon as the trading started, the index jumped 487.75 points to 78,452.74 points in the first half hour of trading due to buying support. After this, there was a selling pressure in the market, due to which in the next 1 hour of trading, the index fell more than 500 points from the upper level and fell to the level of 77,925.09 points with a weakness of 39.90 points.
However, after the first hour of trading, buyers once again started buying, due to which the index recovered and started trading in the green mark in a short time. After the whole day's trading, the Sensex closed at 78,199.11 points with a gain of 234.12 points. Like the Sensex, NSE's Nifty started trading today at the level of 23,679.90 points, jumping 63.85 points. As soon as the market opened, with the support of buying, this index rose by 179.15 points to reach 23,795.20 points.
Immediately after the rise in the first half hour of trading, there was selling pressure in the market, due to which the index fell to the level of 23,637.80 points in a short time. However, after some time the buyers again took over, due to which the position of this index got a little faster. After the whole day's buying and selling, Nifty closed at the level of 23,707.90 points with a gain of 91.85 points.
After the buying and selling in the whole day's trading, among the big stocks of the stock market, ONGC joined the list of today's top 5 gainers with a gain of 3.59 percent, SBI Life Insurance 3 percent, HDFC Life 2.29 percent, Tata Motors 2.19 percent and Reliance Industries 1.88 percent. On the other hand, HCL Technology fell by 1.90 percent, Trent Limited by 1.77 percent, TCS by 1.63 percent, Eicher Motors by 1.39 percent and Hero MotoCorp by 0.97 percent to be included in the list of top 5 losers today.
