Dima Hasao (Assam), 07 January (HS): So far 10 workers have been rescued from Umrangsu coal mine in Assam. According to the administration, more than 10 workers are still trapped in the mine. SDRF, NDRF and Indian Army teams are engaged in rescue operations.
It is said that Kanika Garlosa, wife of Dima Hasao Autonomous Council Chief Executive Deolal Garlosa, is associated with mine operations. No lapse has been allowed in administration and security management regarding the incident.
Officials said that the rescue operation is going on and efforts are being made to evacuate all the workers safely soon.
