Guwahati, 05 January (HS): The reduction in road accident cases this year is the result of strict monitoring by the Assam Police and Transport Department on drunk driving.

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that 481 cases of drunk driving were registered on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day and 109 driving licenses were seized.

He said that the state government is constantly working towards safe roads.
