Dibrugarh (Assam), 05 January (HS): A police Jawan kill due to inadvertent firing while cleaning his gun in the local police cantonment on Sunday morning.

According to the police, a Jawan named Madhav Chutia was hit by a bullet from his own AK-47 service rifle in the police cantonment and passed through his chest. After being shot, he ran outside and shouted, 'Save me, I have been shot'. At that time his wife and a young son were at home. Hearing his screams, the neighbors came out and he was taken to Assam Medical College and Hospital (AMCS), but he killed on the way. Madhav Sutia's house is in Titabar of Jorhat district. As soon as the information was received, the police team reached the spot and sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. Also, the investigation of the case has started.
