5 January (H.S.): Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi has expressed
gratitude to the Central Government for extending the period of Prime Minister
Crop Insurance for Rabi season from December 31, 2024 to January 15, 2025. He
has appealed to the farmers to get registered in this scheme during this
extended period, so that they can get full benefit of the insurance scheme.
Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said that on the request of the state
government, the central government has launched the Prime Minister Crop
Insurance Scheme for the Rabi season. The duration of the scheme has been
extended till January 15. He has appealed to the farmers across the state to
avail the benefits of the insurance scheme for all their Rabi crops including
wheat, pulses and oilseeds.
Farmers can avail the benefits of this scheme by
paying only one and a half percent premium. He said that many farmers of the
state could not register in the crop insurance scheme till the predetermined
period of 31 December 2024, on which the state government, in the interest of
the farmers, on behalf of the Central Government, the Central Government was
requested to extend the period of registration in the insurance scheme. This
scheme has been extended by the Central Government till January 15, 2025. He
expressed gratitude to the Central Government for this on behalf of the farmers
of the state.
