5 January (H.S.): A speeding truck hit a bike rider on Sunday morning under
Sachendi police station area. The collision was so severe that the bike rider
jumped and fell and his head was crushed after coming under the wheel, after which
he died. After the incident, the truck driver fled from the spot. On receiving
the information, the police took possession of the body and sent it for
post-mortem. On Sunday morning, a speeding truck hit a bike rider hard on
Bhauti National Highway 2 of Sachendi police station area. In this incident,
the bike rider died after being run over by the truck. Balram (22), a resident
of Ranjitpur village of Derapur police station area of Kanpur Dehat, was
going from his home towards Kanpur in the morning when he was hit by a speeding
truck passing in front of the food court located at Bhauti. After the incident,
the truck driver left the truck and fled from the spot. After this incident,
there was a jam of about ten kilometers long on the highway. The police had to
face a lot of difficulty in getting it lifted. Police reached the spot after
receiving information about the incident and took possession of the body and
sent it for post-mortem. Sachendi police station in-charge Dinesh Singh Bisht
said that as soon as information about the incident was received, the police
force reached the spot informed the relatives of the deceased and took the
truck into custody. Information about the truck owner and the accused driver is
being collected through RTO.
