The police of Entali police station of Kolkata have arrested a 20-year-old Bangladeshi lady from near NRS Hospital in Kolkata. The lady was arrested as she was unable to show any valid documents to enter India. The police claimed that the accused lady crossed the barbed wire and entered India illegally two-three days ago.
According to police sources, the name of the arrested Bangladeshi lady is Baby Biswas. Her father's name is late Alamgir Khan. The lady's house is in Barisal district of Bangladesh. On Saturday, the police became suspicious when they saw her roaming aimlessly in front of NRS Hospital. During interrogation, the police came to know that she is a citizen of Bangladesh. When the police asked her for valid documents, she could not show them. After that, Baby Biswas was arrested. The police have registered a case against the accused under the Foreigners Act. She will be produced in court on Monday.
Meanwhile, during the initial investigation, the police came to know that the lady crossed the border and entered the state two-three days ago. She was staying in a guest house in Sealdah. The police is trying to find out in which guest house she took shelter in Sealdah. The police of Entali police station is also trying to find out why she came to India and whom she met in the last three days.
Notably after the departure of Sheikh Hasina, many fundamentalist organizations have become active in Bangladesh. Efforts are being made to spread terrorism on Indian soil from across the border. Recently, the police have arrested many members of the extremist organization Ansarullah Bangla Team from Assam, Kerala and West Bengal. It is also being investigated whether the arrested girl is associated with any such fundamentalist organization.
