Bangkok, January 30 (HS): Former world number 1 Kidambi Srikanth and S. Subramaniam entered the men's singles quarter-finals of the Thailand Masters BWF Super 300 tournament by winning their respective matches on Thursday.
Srikanth took only 42 minutes to defeat 20-year-old Jason Gunawan of Hong Kong 21-19, 21-15 in the round of 16 match. He had defeated Gunawan in the Badminton Asia Team Championship last year.
Subramanian had to work hard to win over Indonesia's Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo. Subramaniam lost the first set, but won the match 9-21, 21-10, 21-17.
However, in mixed doubles, the Indian pair of Rohan Kapoor and Ruthvika Gade lost to Thailand's Ratchapol Makkasithorn and Nattamon Laisuan 19-21, 15-21.
