Guwahati, 30 January (HS): Assam Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party has accused the Congress party of doing anti-development politics in Assam. In a press conference held at the state BJP headquarters Atal Bihari Vajpayee Bhawan on Thursday, party spokesperson Subhash Dutta said that the Congress party, led by Congress Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi, is hatching a planned conspiracy against 'Advantage Assam 2.0'. He said that the Congress is presenting a wrong image of this ambitious program and is also involved in propaganda at the international level.

The BJP spokesperson said that the comments made by Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi on 'Advantage Assam 2.0' in the last few days show that the Congress party is conspiring to defame it. He alleged that some time ago Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge had made a negative statement regarding the establishment of the semiconductor industry in Assam, which tried to tarnish the image of the state.

The BJP spokesperson said that this policy of the Congress is against the people of Assam and the development of the state. He alleged that the Congress leaders are in despair at this time and are doing such propaganda due to the fear of political loss from the success of 'Advantage Assam 2.0'. He said that everyone should support this initiative for the overall progress of Assam and the Congress should focus on other issues for politics.

Subhash Dutta said that 'Advantage Assam 2.0' will take the economy of the state to new heights. He informed that the GDP of Assam was $ 21.4 billion in 2013-14, which has increased to $ 68.7 billion in 2023-24. He expressed confidence that the GSDP of Assam will cross ₹6 lakh crore in the current financial year.

The BJP spokesperson praised the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and said that the state government is constantly striving to include Assam among the leading states of the country. He said that 'Advantage Assam 2.0' will strengthen the state's infrastructure and accelerate industrial development. He thanked Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and the Assam government for organizing this event.
