Seoul, 20 January (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma participated in the Global Investment Road Show organized in Seoul. During this, he invited industrialists and investors from South Korea to join the upcoming 'Advantage Assam 2.0 Investment and Infrastructure Summit'. This summit will be held in Guwahati on 25 and 26 February.
Addressing the investors, the Chief Minister said that the strategic location of Assam, special cooperation of the Central Government and favorable policies make it a suitable destination for investment. Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Act East policy, he said that this policy is making Assam the focal point for strengthening relations with South and Southeast Asian countries.
Dr. Sarma interacted with more than 140 business leaders in this road show organized by the Indian Chamber of Commerce. He informed the South Korean industrialists about Assam's investment-friendly policies and rich tourist destinations. The Chief Minister said that Assam offers great potential for tourism as well as semiconductor and automobile industry.
Later, Dr. Sarma met Kyungsung Kang, Chairman, Korea Trade Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and his team. He invited South Korean industrialists to attend the summit, calling it an important platform for trade and industrial partnership between Assam and South Korea.
The Chief Minister also held a meeting with CEOs and leaders of South Korea's automobile ancillary industry. He said that Assam can become a major hub of production with easy access to the huge auto industry of India and South-East Asia. He assured the industrialists of his government's full support.
