Jorhat (Assam), 02 January (HS): Kumud Chandra Kachari took oath as Chief Executive Member (CEM) and Pratap Kachari as President in the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council on Thursday.

Jorhat Deputy Commissioner Jai Shivan administered the oath to them in a grand ceremony held at the Cultural Museum Auditorium of the Thengal Kachari Autonomous Council at Titabar. All the members of the council and hundreds of local people were present on this occasion.

Former CEM Pratap Kachari had to leave the post due to opposition from the council members even before the completion of his term. Today, for the second time, Kumud Chandra Kachari took charge as the Chief Executive Member.
