2 January (H.S.): Dr. Vatsala Mishra, Principal and Senior Professor, Motilal
Nehru Medical College, who has been overseeing the functions of Head of the
Department of Pathology and Academic Dean for a long time, has been elected as
the National Level Associate Dean of the Indian College of Pathologists (ICP). This
achievement is a testament to her dedication and excellent leadership. Dr.
Vatsala Mishra is the first pathologist and senior professor from Prayagraj and
surrounding areas to receive this honour. There is a wave of happiness among
the medical teachers, staff, and students of Motilal Nehru Medical College and
Swarup Rani Nehru Hospital on this achievement.
Her
appointment to this prestigious post was announced at the national convention
held recently in Cuttack, Orissa. Many dignitaries associated with the medical fraternity
were present on this occasion. Her colleagues, including current Head of the
Department Dr. Kachnar Verma, Vice-Principal Dr. V.K. Pandey, Chief
Superintendent Dr. Ajay Saxena and Dr. Mohit Jain, congratulated her heartily
and described her achievement as a moment of pride for the institute. Under the
leadership of Dr. Vatsala Mishra, the facilities for the patients at Swaroop
Rani Nehru Hospital are being expanded. Keeping in mind the upcoming Maha Kumbh
Mela, her team is constantly striving to add additional beds, modern testing
facilities, and strengthen emergency services at the hospital. She believes that
smooth management of medical services in a big event like Maha Kumbh is of
utmost importance. Indian College of Pathologists (ICP) comes under the Indian
Association of Pathologists and Microbiologists (IAPM). This institution
promotes educational and research activities in the field of pathology. The
appointment of Dr. Vatsala Mishra is proof that Prayagraj's medical field has
the potential to create recognition at the national and international level.
