Delhi, 17 January (H.S.): Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) launched its first battery electric car E-Vitara on Friday. The company plans to export it to more than 100 countries. This car will run more than 500 kilometers on full charge.

Maruti Suzuki India Limited displayed its first electric car E-Vitara at the India Mobility Global Expo 2025. After launching it at the vehicle exhibition held in New Delhi, Toshihiro Suzuki, Representative Director and President of Suzuki Motor Corporation, said that the electric SUV will be exported to various regions including Europe and Japan.

Toshihiro Suzuki said, We plan to start production of E-Vitara at Maruti Suzuki's Gujarat plant in the coming few months. From here we will export to more than 100 countries including Europe and Japan.

He said that the automobile manufacturer in India will use all its resources to create a battery electric vehicle ecosystem so that customers can experience complete satisfaction.

On this occasion, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Maruti Suzuki India Hisashi Takeuchi said, We have invested more than Rs 2100 crore for the manufacturing of e-Vitara in India, which also includes a separate EV production 'line'.

E-Vitara has two battery options 49 kWh and 61 kWh. It can run for about 500 kilometers on a single charge. The company is also planning to make India a global production center for this model. Suzuki Motor Corporation has about 58 percent stake in Maruti Suzuki India Limited.
