New Delhi, 15 January (H.S.): Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh inaugurated the India Pavilion at Heimtextil 2025 (Home Textile Fair) organized at Messe Frankfurt, Germany. Addressing global home textile exporters, importers and manufacturers on this occasion, Giriraj Singh mentioned the need for cooperation to achieve India's increasing competitiveness and sustainable development. Singh invited all participating countries to participate in India Tex 2025 and explore investment opportunities in India's thriving textile ecosystem.
The Textile Ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that India's presence in this event is demonstrating the country's ever-growing strength in the textile industry. With the largest participating country in this prestigious global home textile fair, India demonstrated its commitment to innovation, sustainability and global partnership. During the investors meet with textile and machinery manufacturers, the Union Minister, while sharing India's growth story and rising FDI in the last 10 years, emphasized that the 'Make in India' initiative is a proven strategy that is helping India emerge as a competitive manufacturing hub.
While encouraging investors to take advantage of the growing opportunities, he also advised them not to miss out on the Indian market as they may fear missing out. Inviting global investors, he said, Come and invest in India - Make in India, Make for the World.
During the Heimtextil, the Minister also met the heads of the German Machinery and Equipment Manufacturers Association and IVGT.
Giriraj Singh urged to strengthen its engagement with India's textile sector, saying India is one of the largest textile machinery buyers. The Union Minister said that if German manufacturers invest and produce machinery in India, it will be a win-win situation for both sides. Citing the success story of a German sewing thread manufacturer in India where several German entrepreneurs have already made a mark, he encouraged other machinery manufacturers to explore and expand their investments in the Indian market.
During his visit, the Minister visited various stalls at the exhibition and interacted with exhibitors to enquire about their latest offerings and innovations in home textiles. The craftsmanship of Indian exporters reaffirmed the Government's commitment to support the global aspirations of the sector. The Ministry said the event witnessed enthusiastic participation from industry captains and exporters and reflected India's determination to consolidate its position as a global leader in the textile industry. The Indian delegation, led by Union Minister Giriraj Singh, was accompanied by Rohit Kansal, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles, Consul General of India in Germany and other officials of the Ministry.
Representatives from five Export Promotion Councils and Jute Board were also present during the inauguration who showcased a wide range of products.
