New Delhi, 10 January (H.S.): Union Minister of State for Finance Pankaj Chaudhary on Friday presided over the passing out parade of the 74th batch of Indian Revenue Service (Customs and Indirect Taxes) officers at the National Customs, Indirect Taxes and Narcotics Academy (NACIN) located at Palasamudram (Andhra Pradesh).

This ceremony concluded the rigorous training of the officers and marked the beginning of their journey as Karmayogis protecting the economic interests of India. This batch included 35 officers, including 25 male and 10 female officers, who displayed extraordinary discipline and commitment during the program.

On this occasion, Chairman of Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) Sanjay Kumar Agarwal, both members of CBIC Shashank Priya and Yogendra Garg, Principal Director General of NACIN Gaigondin Panmei, besides senior officials of CBIC were also present.

In his address on the occasion, Pankaj Chaudhary lauded the readiness of the officers to shoulder the important responsibilities in facilitating trade and safeguarding the Indian economy and expressed confidence in their ability to advance the Government's vision of a developed India by promoting economic progress and social equity. In his address on the occasion, Agarwal encouraged the officers to maintain decisiveness, innovation and openness to feedback in their duties and emphasized their role in strengthening the country's tax and business systems. Panmei, Principal Director General of NACIN congratulated the officers and urged them to maintain the highest standards of public service in their diverse roles across the country.

During the ceremony, the exceptional performers of the 74th batch were awarded gold medals for their outstanding achievements. The Finance Minister's Gold Medal was awarded to K. Prasad Krishnan for achieving balanced excellence in academics, attendance and physical training.

The Chairman's Gold Medal was awarded to Sahil Khare for securing the highest aggregate marks in the written examinations. The Kaushalya Narayanan Memorial Gold Medal was awarded to Musale Anuja Anant for her outstanding performance as the best woman officer trainee. The Principal Director General's Gold Medal was awarded to Pankaj Gujar for consistent performance and excellent conduct during training. The NK Upadhyay Memorial Gold Medal was awarded to Vineet Bansod for exemplary discipline, conduct and teamwork.

The parade included a spectacular display of drills, which demonstrated the professionalism and discipline of the officers. The event concluded with the officers taking an oath to uphold the values ​​of integrity and service as they perform their role as the economic supporter and protector of the nation.
