Sept 8 (HS): The death toll from the building collapse here has risen to eight,

with rescuers recovering three more corpses from the rubble, authorities said

on Sunday. Amit Verma, Joint Commissioner of Police, stated that there is a

remote likelihood that someone is still trapped within. After returning from

Ambedkar Nagar, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath went Lok Bandhu Hospital to meet

with people injured in the tragedy.

Today,

I met with the individuals who were injured in the sad building collapse in

Lucknow at Lokbandhu Shri Rajnarayan Joint Hospital. Inquired about their

well-being and obtained treatment information from doctors, according to a post

on X. Under the guidance of trained

doctors, adequate care is given to everyone as a top priority.

During

this tough moment, the Uttar Pradesh government is fully prepared and sensitive

to the needs of victims and families. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for the rapid

recovery of the wounded, the chief minister stated. Prime Minister Narendra

Modi also expressed condolences for the deceased in the event. He prayed for

those who lost loved ones in the event, as well as for those who were hurt, to

recover quickly.

According

to a post on X by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO), the PM has announced an ex

gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund

(PMNRF) and Rs 50,000 to those injured. A three-story building in the Transport

Nagar district fell on Saturday, injuring 28 people and recovering five

corpses.
