Five-day Rural Administration Management Development Program from 9 to 13 September


New Delhi, 07 September (HS): The Ministry of Panchayati Raj is going to organize a 5-day Rural Administration Management Development Training Program from 9 to 13 September 2024 in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Management, Jammu (IIM, Jammu). The ministry gave this information on Saturday. The ministry hoped that this project would improve the efficiency of local government in India and contribute to the rapid development of the people in rural areas.

According to the statement issued by the ministry, elected representatives of Panchayati Raj organizations including District Panchayats, Vattara Committee Chief, Deputy Chief, Gram Panchayat Chief, officials and workers of various Panchayats of Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Dadra-Nagar Haveli-Daman Diu in 11 states and union territories will participate in this training program.

According to the ministry, the objective of this training is to improve the leadership, management and governance skills of the elected representatives and officials of Panchayati Raj organizations. The five-day training programme will cover various aspects such as leadership, management ethics, resource mobilisation and integration, innovation in rural areas, better management of projects and artificial intelligence.

Participants will be equipped with the necessary energy to manage their areas more effectively, a ministry spokesperson said. It will also feature expert-led sessions, case studies and discussions. The main objective of the scheme is to increase own source revenues to help achieve financial sustainability and transform panchayats into efficient institutions.

Since panchayats are the bodies responsible for providing basic amenities to rural people, this 5-day programme aims to improve the skills of their elected representatives and officials to serve them better.
