Nawada, 19 September (HS): Bihar Police arrested 11 people till Thursday morning in the case of arson in which about 80 houses were set on fire in Mahadalit Tola in Nawada, Bihar on Wednesday evening, according to Nawada SP Abhinav Dhiman.

DM Ashutosh Verma says that after the incident, the police have taken strict action. A large number of police force has been deployed in the affected villages under the leadership of magistrates, so that no untoward incident can be carried out.

He said the main accused of this fire incident, Nandu Paswan, has been arrested. Whoever is found guilty in this case, will be arrested and strict action will be taken.

In the Krishna Nagar Mahadalit Tola of Mufassil police station area of ​​Nawada district, more than 100 gun-wielding Hariyos, under the leadership of Nandu Paswan of the nearby Pranabigha Dalit Tola, surrounded the village and set it on fire.

District Magistrate Ashutosh Verma has also confirmed that 21 houses have been completely burnt. More than a dozen cattle have died in the fire. Vehicles were also damaged. The affected villagers said household goods have been completely burnt. The attackers started firing bullets causing panic in the community members.

According to the villagers, a similiar firing incident was carried out in the month of November last year. At that time the police did not pay any attention to the matter. An FIR was lodged but the police remained completely inactive.

In this incident, the houses of Gorelal, Jhapsi Manjhi, Sanjay Manjhi, Nitya Manjhi, Ramchandra Manjhi, Bhola Manjhi, Tara Manjhi, Lalita Devi, Awadhesh Manjhi, Manoj Manjhi, Doma Manjhi, Doma Ravidas, Gendo Manjhi, Suresh Manjhi, Vijay Ravidas, Shobha Devi, Sarita Devi, Surup Manjhi, Naval Manjhi, Nilesh Manjhi, Ranjit Manjhi, Saheb Manjhi, Ranguna Manjhi, Bhola Manjhi, Dharmendra Manjhi, Anil Manjhi, Ramvriksh Ravidas, Suraj Ravidas, Kishori Ravidas, Siya Ravidas, Rajendra Manjhi etc. were set on fire.

It is being said that the houses of about 80-85 people were set on fire and a large number of police forces has been deployed.
