Mayawati questions where 'acche din' promised by BJP have gone

Lucknow, 26 April (HS): BSP president Mayawati said on Friday that the country's unemployed, farmers, women, and other impoverished sectors should reflect that they have delivered acche din (good times) to the BJP, but what happened to their much-publicized pledge to bring acche din to them?

Like the Congress slogan Garibi Hatao, the BJP has also failed to meet its promises. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo added to her post on X, urging voters to utilize their franchise on polling day for the second round of Lok Sabha elections.

Phase two polling is under underway in 88 parliamentary seats across 13 states and union territories. Voting in Uttar Pradesh's second round is now ongoing in the seats of Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, and Mathura.

In her X post in Hindi, Mayawati stated that today is the second phase of voting for the Lok Sabha elections in the country. Poor, jobless, farmers, women, and other impoverished people should remember that you delivered acche din to the BJP, but what happened to their much-publicized pledge to bring acche din for you? Rather, why is their (party's) situation so bad?

In a linked post, she stated that, like the Congress's 'Garibi Hatao' slogan, the BJP has also betrayed significant promises. While the government's main obligation is to manage the nation in accordance with the Constitution's sacred humanitarian and welfare aims, as well as to assure the development of Bahujans, why are the lives of crores of poor, SC, ST, OBC, and minorities always helpless and miserable? She asked.

Rather than voting for a specific person or party, it is in the best interests of the country and its almost 125 crore industrious citizens to vote for 'acche din' that are free of poverty and unemployment. Come forth and vote for a 'decent administration' that supports Bahujan. As a result, Mayawati suggested that the vote come first, followed by refreshments.

Earlier, Uttar Pradesh Congress president Ajay Rai stated in a post on X, There is an appeal to the respected voters of Uttar Pradesh to play an important role in securing the country, Constitution, and democracy by casting their invaluable vote for the INDI Alliance candidates. Your one vote can help save the country from inflation, horrors, and corruption.”
