Serampore: Kalyan Banerjee files nomination

Hooghly, 26 April (HS): Trinamool Congress candidate from Serampore Lok Sabha constituency Kalyan Banerjee filed his nomination for the Lok Sabha elections 2024 on Friday. After offering prayers in Uttarpara on Friday morning, Kalyan Banerjee left for Chuchura to file his nomination.

A large number of Trinamool Congress leaders and workers including West Bengal Transport Minister Snehasish Chakraborty, TMC's Serampore Hooghly Organizational District President Arindam Guin were present with Kalyan Banerjee. While going to submit the nomination at the Bhoomi and Bhoomi Sanskar office located in Hooghly More area, Kalyan offered prayers in various temples from Uttarpara to Champdani.

Crowds of Kalyan Banerjee's supporters were seen on both sides of the road. After reaching the Bhoomi office, Kalyan Banerjee filed his nomination.

Talking to media, Kalyan Banerjee said that this time he would win the Serampore Lok Sabha seat by a margin of more than one and a half lakh votes. Kalyan said that this time there was a wave like the year 2009 in support of Mamata Banerjee. This time there is no wave in support of the BJP like there was in 2019, therefore the BJP will get less votes than five years ago.
