Kokrajhar (Assam), 07 May (HS): A Bodoland People's Front (BPF) worker was taken into custody on Tuesday on charges of rigging a polling booth in Kokrajhar during the third and final phase of voting in Assam. After this, a situation of excitement arose in the entire area. This incident took place at a polling booth in Science College located in Kokrajhar town.

BPF workers clashed with security forces during the detention of a BPF worker following allegations of rigging at a polling booth.

The incident occurred when a group of BPF workers along with Sewali Mohilary, wife of BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary, reached the polling booth.

Sevali Mahilari and some BPF workers who had arrived with her got embroiled in a dispute at the centre.

The police also allegedly stopped Sevali Mahilari from moving forward. Security forces picked up the BPF worker in a car. During this, there was a heated argument between BPF workers and the police.

According to another news, BPF candidate from Kokrajhar Lok Sabha constituency Khamfa Bargyari today exercised his voting rights at Basubari Primary School polling station in Chirang.
