Car crushes 11 of family sleeping on roadside, 3 killed, 8 injured


Dausa, 26 April (Hindus): Late Thursday night in Mahwa town, an uncontrolled car crushed 11 people sleeping on the roadside. Three people died in this, while eight people were seriously injured. Two injured people are undergoing treatment in the government hospital in Mahwa, while six seriously injured people have been referred to Jaipur. All the deceased and injured belonged to nomadic families who lived in a roadside slum near Tikaram Paliwal Government Senior Secondary School. The police have seized the car.

Head constable Brij Kishore said that the police had received information about the incident at around 11.20 pm. Investigation revealed that the driver of a speeding Hyundai Aura car, while driving at high speed and carelessly, crushed the people sleeping on the roadside.

The injured in the accident were taken to the Government District Hospital, Mahwa. Here the doctors declared Raju (50) son Papaiya, Pari (6) daughter Dilip and Athori (60) wife Papaiya resident of Mahwa (Dausa) dead. Seriously injured Jagga (40) son Papaiya, Shani (13) son Deepak, Sheru alias Monu (11) son Prahlad, Kajal (30) wife Deepak resident Mahwa (Dausa), Dilip (26) son Dabba, Seema (25) Wife Dilip resident of Laxmangarh (Alwar) has been referred to Sawai Mansingh Hospital, Jaipur. Uganta Devi (40) wife Panna and Priya (7) daughter Satish resident of Mahwa (Dausa) are undergoing treatment in the government hospital of Mahwa.

After the accident, the driver fled leaving the car on the spot. Police have taken the damaged car into custody. Police is searching for the accused driver. On receiving information about the incident, Mahwa MLA Rajendra Meena reached the hospital late on Thursday night. He inquired about the condition of the injured from the doctors. Police incharge Jitendra Solanki was asked to take strict action against the car driver.

Dr. Anurag Dhakad, in-charge of Trauma Center at SMS Hospital, Jaipur, said that six injured were admitted here after being referred from Mahwa in Dausa. One of them, Dilip (26), has been discharged. Five others have been admitted to the surgery unit. In this, one patient has a slight head injury, while the condition of the remaining four is normal. He is undergoing treatment.
