Dehradun, 25 April (HS): BJP State President Mahendra Bhatt, who was elected unopposed for Rajya Sabha member, took the oath of membership of Rajya Sabha in New Delhi on Thursday. Rajya Sabha Chairman and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar gave him membership.

After taking oath, Rajya Sabha member Mahendra Bhatt said that the top leadership has given him an opportunity to work in Rajya Sabha. As a Rajya Sabha member, he will continue to work for the development of Uttarakhand.

Bhatt is a resident of Chamoli, a border district of Uttarakhand. He has also been an MLA from Badrinath Assembly. In the 2022 assembly elections, he had to face defeat from Badrinath assembly. He is currently the state president of BJP.
