Senior Trinamool Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sushmita Dev has said that due to the lack of Trinamool Congress members in the Assam Assembly, the people of the Barak valley do not get the facilities they should get. She said that in the upcoming assembly elections, Trinamool Congress will field its candidates on all the 126 seats of Assam. She said that the party's hopes have been raised after seeing the enthusiasm of the people during Mamata Banerjee's Barak valley tour two days ago. In the coming times, Trinamool Congress will fight in Assam with the entire energy.

Sushmita alleged that people of Barak valley are being expected. She said that due to the complexities of the provisions of the Citizenship Amendment Act, people did not get any relief from it. She alleged that the BJP government has harassed Bengalis, both Hindu and Muslim. She said that no one can forget the way Bengali people were put to trouble during NRC. She said that through CAA, BJP is doing only politics, the government is not successful in fulfilling the purpose for which this law was made. It took so much time since the law was made to implement it. She claimed that Hindu Bengalis became disillusioned with the BJP because of CAA. Sushmita Dev was talking to journalists after attending an rally here. During this, he made many allegations against the central and state governments of BJP regarding price hike, road etc.
