BSF's Latest Triumph: Seizing a China-made Drone and Heroin Near India-Pakistan Border

Chandigarh, 20 April (H.S): The Border Security Force (BSF) has once again demonstrated its vigilance and commitment to safeguarding India's borders by seizing a China-made drone and 500 grams of heroin near the India-Pakistan border in Punjab's Amritsar district. Acting on a tip-off, the BSF troops conducted a thorough search operation in the suspected area, leading to the successful recovery of the drone and drugs.

The recovered drone, a China-made DJI Mavic 3 Classic, was found to have a packet of heroin wrapped in yellow adhesive tape attached to it, along with a small torch. This incident highlights the continuous threat of narcotics smuggling through drones from across the border, which the BSF has been effectively combating.

In 2020 alone, the BSF detected and shot down 107 drones and seized over 440 kg of heroin. In addition to this, they have also apprehended intruders and smugglers from Pakistan, Bangladesh, and India. Despite facing numerous challenges such as harsh weather conditions and the constant threat of smuggling, the BSF continues to fulfill its duty with unwavering dedication.
