Guwahati, 02 April (HS): Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma has said that this election is to elect Narendra Modi as Prime Minister for the third time. The election is just a formality.

The Chief Minister was talking to journalists after addressing an election program in Sarupathar on Tuesday. He said that there are no local issues in this election. Local issues are raised in assembly elections. The direct resolution of the people in this election is to elect Narendra Modi as the Prime Minister.

In response to a question, the Chief Minister said that in the last elections, there were many types of apprehensions in the minds of the local people of Assam. These apprehensions have gradually gone away. He said that there was a problem of insurgency in various tribal areas of the state. People were apprehensive about land rights. But now the insurgency has ended. Peace agreement has been signed with various militant organizations including ULFA. Many people have been given land rights. People's problems have been solved in various ways.

The Chief Minister said that this election is being fought entirely on the agenda of development. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared this time as Amrit Kal. The Prime Minister has resolved to make India a developed country by 2047. We are doing all the work to complete this.

On the question related to China giving geographical names to 30 places of Arunachal Pradesh, the Chief Minister said that however this is an international matter and the state has nothing to do with it. Nevertheless, he will advise the Central Government that in response to China's 30 places, the Indian Government should give the geographical names of sixty places in Tibet.

During this, along with the Chief Minister, BJP candidate from Kaziranga Lok Sabha constituency Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, BTC Chief Executive Member Pramod Bodo and many MLAs, ministers and other dignitaries were present.
