New Delhi, April 2 (HS): After resigning from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Ajay Nishad, MP from Muzaffarpur, Bihar, joined the Congress party. When he reached Congress headquarters on Tuesday, Congress leaders welcomed him with a patka. Nishad had resigned from BJP this morning and joined the Congress in the afternoon.

On this occasion, Congress Media and Publicity Department Chairman Pawan Khera, Bihar State President Akhilesh Prasad Singh, Bihar State Congress in-charge Prakash Mohan and Bihar Aurangabad MLA Anand Shankar Singh and Karhagar MLA Santosh were present.

The BJP did not give ticket to Ajay Nishad from Muzaffarpur Lok Sabha seat, due to which he was angry. Presently this seat is with the Congress in the grand alliance. Ajay Nishad could be the candidate from Muzaffarpur from Grand Alliance on Congress ticket.

Ajay Nishad has been the MP of Muzaffarpur continuously since 2014. In 2014, he defeated the current state president of Congress Akhilesh Prasad Singh by about 2.22 lakh votes.
