Kathmandu, 28 Mar (HS): The India-Nepal Power Trade agreement has been extended by three months on a request by Nepal Government. The five-year agreement required renewal every year. This year, however, it has been extended by three months only.

Nepal’s Power Corporation Spokesperson Chandan Ghosh said that the Indian Energy Exchange Board has permitted import of 554 MW energy between April and June. Of this 500 MW of energy will be imported through the Dhalkewar Muzaffarpur distribution line, while 54 MW through the Tanakpur distribution line.

The agreement has been renewed allowing 554 MW instead of 650 MW.
